Breeder of Typey Old English Mastiffs

Thornton Mastiffs is located in Akron, Ohio. We breed Old English Mastiffs first and formost to be healthy and have outstanding temperaments, but most of all to be lovable. Our dogs are raised in our home with my three children, three cats and a cockatail.      I first became involved with the mastiff breed when I came home with a cute brindle boy named Itsy Bitsy from a puppy mill. I knew I should not of bought from a puppy mill but I could not leave him there. He wormed his way into my heart forever and was spoiled rotten as only a mastiff can be. From the beginning he had health problems, ear infections, hip and skin problems, growths and allergies. He was very dog aggressive even after we tried to socialize him. After three years we lost him suddenly to cancer. My family was heartbroken and still to this day very much missed. I vowed never to buy a puppy mill dog again.      A few years later, my children wanted to get another mastiff. After my experience with Itsy Bitsy, I decided that I wanted to raise quality and healthy mastiffs so know other family would have to go experience losing a beloved dog to soon. After careful consideration and many hours researching the mastiff breed, I brought home my female Zoey from Dralion Mastiff. A month later my male Ziggy also from Dralion Mastiff. As years go on we continue to add to our mastiff family. All of our dogs are hip, elbow, and PRA cleared or will be tested at appropriated ages.
